G.P. service. Unlike doctors and small animal vets, our vets
usually travel to their patients rather than the patients coming to
the surgery. This is co-ordinated by our reception staff, who keep in
touch with the vets by telephone or emergency bleep. |

Dentistry. All our vets are skilled in tooth rasping and other routine dental
procedures. John Williams has trained at an advanced level and acts
as an in-house consultant for us. To reflect this interest, we have
invested in an extensive range of equine dentistry tools. Other vets
in the practice plan to follow John's lead and also take advanced
dental training. |

ENT clinics. There are full endoscopic and other facilities for the
diagnosis of respiratory disease. Geoff Lane, a well-known ENT surgeon
from Bristol University visits us regularly to act as a consultant.
He will also perform operations when necessary using our operating
theatre. |

Farm visits. Because of the diversity of modern farming systems, most of our work on farms is charged on time. It therefore makes good business sense to be organised by having the stock in and ready with good animal handling facilities. Routine farm visits can be arranged by request. |

Racing John and Andrew and Naomi officiate at all Stratford and Warwick race
meetings, assisted by other members of the practice. John is on the
panel of vets for Cheltenham and is regularly on duty at the festival.

Pharmacy (photo Phillippa Colles) |
Pharmacy. We have a small but well equipped pharmacy. There is fine line between
keeping adequate stocks and maintaining a steady turnover so that clients
are not given drugs with a short shelf life. Therefore, if you require
large quantities of drugs such as mastitis treatments or horse wormers,
we advise that you ring before calling to make sure they are in stock.
If not in stock, they can often be supplied by the next day. We can
also supply some medicines by post on request. Remember to give us twenty-four
hours notice for repeat prescriptions.
